RESPOND TO YOUR CLASSMATES POST"

Every year the number of gender-nonconforming children being born are higher than the prior year by far. Many parents are giving there hildren the option to pick there gender once they are old enough to understand. While alot of people think this can be confusing on children, some think it is a great idea. I personally do not think spacific toys should be assigned to certain genders. Some parents do not like the idea at all of ther son playing with girl toys or wearing dresses and their opinion is important as well. I think it's fine if a girl wants to play with cars and a boy wants to play with a toy kitchen set. As long as we all support each others parenting styles and not judge the other one for how they chose to let there child identify then it shouldn't be a problem. In certain situations this can be confusing for everyone. For example, if a boy in my classroom decided to wear dresses and makeup, which bathroom would be better for him to use the boys or girls? There are many factors that we have to consider being educators with this change happening rapidly.Schools should consider adding more restrooms with no spacific gender so children can feel comfortable using that one too. Sometimes child don't understand and can't help that they are different or not comfortable with the body they were born in and that has to be hard enough on them. It is important we support them and help them feel as welcome and comfortable as possible, it is out job to always stay positive and supportive.
