Reason for the Assignment:

You started the semester by looking at your image of the child. Having spent the entire semester working with infants or toddlers your image may have developed. This reflective presentation gives you the opportunity to share your learning, growth and thinking from this semester. By sharing with colleagues, you will have the opportunity to compare your thinking and learning with your colleagues' experiences. 


 


 

What you need to do:

This is a reflection, so you will pick what you would like share with your classmates. Here are some suggestions for where to start your thinking process:

Read your image of the infant or toddler assignment from the start of the semester and note any changes to your thinking or feeling.

Review your 3 Pedagogical process assignments and your reflections from those. What did you learn through that process?

Pick out one or two readings or videos from our course materials that were most important to you. Why did you pick these? How do they connect to your experiences at placement?

Pick out one or two classes that really stood out as important to you. What was it about those classes that spoke to you? How do you connect those classes to your experience at placement?


 

Using the above or other points of reflection, decide which learning you would like to share with your colleagues. You only have 7 minutes, so pick one or two points and connect those to your experiences at placement, your course materials, our in class discussions, and/or your personal growth.

Preparing your presentation:

Create a reflective presentation that you will share with a small group of classmates in our final class. You will have about 7 minutes to share your presentation. Remember, a presentation is only valuable when people engage with it. Make sure to prepare a presentation that engages your audience. 


 

Here are some options for formatting your presentation:

PPT (with a script or voice over for submission to BB, though you can speak to the PPT live in your presentation)

1 or more Pictographs

a panel of photos, titles, and words

a story that combines words and images

a video

a podcast

other (let your Professor know about your other ideas before Week 6)


 

Submission:

Submit to Blackboard prior to the start of our Final class, including a script or a voice over so that your professor can grade your work fully. You will then present your presentations to a small group of students in class.
