Title: Strategic Go To Market Plan for Baby Product
Scope: A Seattle based hardware startup seeks to launch the most advanced baby bottle ever produced. With no equivalent in the market, the organization seeks to redefine a product category that has barely changed in the past century. As a premium baby product and a new player in the parenting/baby product sector leaders are challenged to figure out novel ways to break into a crowded marketplace. Co-founders seek student support to develop a comprehensive plan to bring this novel product to market.
Goal: The desired deliverable is a comprehensive strategic plan to roll-out the product to consumers. Students will research and identify a variety of go-to-market strategies including direct to consumer e-commerce, regional rollout through boutique baby retailers, and opportunity to partner with major retail organizations (e.g. Buy Buy Baby, Target, etc.). Students will deep dive into product-market fit, target audience, competition and demand, and distribution channels while making recommendations for the best traction channels. Using and understanding the marketplace combined with the research to be conducted, students will develop a list of requirements to take the product to market, recommend initial implementation steps, generate a rough draft of a schedule to move forward.
