1 . Which of the three types of closeness —physical, emotional, or relational—do you think is most important within close relationships? Why? Also, how do you think these three types of closeness vary based on relationship type, such as relatives versus friends or lovers?

The most important type of closeness is relational because I realized that physical closeness is only good if we are not experiencing a pandemic. Now, that we are restricted to be with a large number of people, physical closeness is not that useful and relatable. What is timely and relevant are our ways and means of reaching out to people who may not have the chance of going out or may be living on the other side of the world. Maintaining that relationship through channels like gadgets and the internet is easier and more convenient.

The three type of closeness vary  according to the openness, dependence and geographical location of the person. We establish Physical closeness to those people whom we can see everyday, these are our lovers, family members and even our close friends at work. It is easier to build connections with these people because we spend more time having face-to-face conversations with them.

Emotional closeness is more applicable to people whom we are open, sharing our problems and feelings with. We depend our emotions on their reactions and feelings. These may be our husband and or partners. Relational closeness on the other hand is applicable to all sorts of relationships and regardless of the location and duration of the relationship.

2 .Many ways people communicate immediacy and affection in their relationships. Most of the research on these topics has looked at face-to-face communication. How you use your cell phone to communicate messages related to affection and immediacy? Do you think you can be just as affectionate and immediate communicating on your phone as you can be in person? Explain why or why not.

We can't deny the fact that face-to-face communication is the best way to show our feelings and emotions but in today's generation and with our situation now, using mobile phones play an important role in the communication process. Some couple/family members/relatives live on the other side of the world or are just restricted because of the pandemic so it is but fitting to use a channel that is very easy and convenient to use in order to relay the message.  It is the fastest channel to use when we talk about immediacy and fast involvement. We can also be  affectionate while using mobile phones, remember that these gadgets have various features that allow use to  show how we really feel towards the other person. We can call and even sing if we want to. We can facetime or videocall them. We can also send sweet messages through chat or text along with emojis and stickers. Pictures and videos can be sent using mobile phones, as well. See, you have a lot of options. All you need is a creative mind and ways on how to show your affection.

3. Think about times when you were really upset about something and needed support. What are some of the best things people did to support and comfort you during those times? Did anyone do or say anything that made you feel worse rather than better? How do experiences fit?

In the past couple of months, I got upset whenever I am alone. I also feel helpless and anxious. Although I have experienced these things, I am lucky to have people who really cares. They call me all the time because we can't see each other due of the pandemic, we also do video chats and we keep on sending videos and pictures. These made me feel at ease, knowing that I know I have someone to call if I need anything and if I need support.  They sometimes send food and packages over to my house and it feels good. I am one lucky person, because so far all the people I know wants me to be happy and comfortable. they don't want me to feel bad and sad. I hope that someday you'll be able to find people like them in the future.
