Raymond And Vida Wutherspoon

Vida Sherwin, a high-school teacher, was Carol's chief critic and adviser. A college graduate and a career woman, she married Raymie Wutherspoon, of the shoe department of Haydock's Bon Ton Store. Vida quickly changed from pedagogy to domesticity and in a few years pushed her rather spineless husband into a position of some importance. Raymie enjoyed singing but had a dubious voice. He performed well in amateur theatricals, playing the villain in The Girl from Kankakee. In spite of their different personalities, the two were congenial.
