Format of the GRE
The new GRE CBT is composed of two Analytical Writing Assessment Responses (45 minutes and 30 minutes), a 30-minute Verbal Ability section (30 multiple-choice questions), and a 45-minute Quantitative Ability section (28 multiple-choice questions). More.


GRE Test Dates and Registration
The computer-based GRE test is given year-round. Beginning January 1, 2010, the fee for taking the test in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico is $160. Visit the ETS site to register for the computer-based test.
The paper-based GRE test offered in areas where the computer-based test is not available. The test is offered only twice per year — in October and February. Visit the ETS site for this year's dates and to register.
