Learning Factors in Emotion

Emotions may also be learned. For example, fear may be learned through conditioning, and once fear is learned, the drive to avoid it is a powerful motivator. The learning of some fears, however, as well as certain other emotions, may involve other processes, which are discussed later.

Emotional responses may be learned also through modeling. The high incidence of violence in our society is seen by some to be related to the high incidence of violence in the media, particularly television and movies.
