Stafford is an anthropologist and writer from Alexandria, Virginia, with more than fifteen years of fundraising and communications experience in higher education and not-for-profit organizations. She has also worked in immigration and refugee affairs for the federal government and social service agencies. Dr. Stafford earned her doctorate in anthropology from New York University.
