About SUNY at Stony BrookA diverse university in Long Island New York with many of the students from long Island and Queens. 50 percent of the students are commuters. Many of the students would say that their professors are accessible and forthright. Many of the professors are working professionals who can offer helpful insights into what ever it is they are teaching. Everyone fits in though some would say the atmosphere can feel a bit like high school. The National Science Foundation has given special recognition to Stony Brook for being at the forefront of integrating research and education.
