About SUNY College of Arts & Sciences at New PaltzThe student body here is diverse yet clique-y. A rare combination of rappers, jocks, hipsters and Long Island kids. Some would say that the best thing about SUNY New Paltz would be its heterogeneity and tolerance. Not a huge school so everyone seems to know everyone. The goal of SUNY NP is for students to gain knowledge, skills, and confidence to contribute as productive members of their communities and professions and active citizens in a democratic nation and a global society. With that said, there is no surprise that the student body itself reflects this ideal.
