You can order CliffsNotes.com products directly from the address and phone numbers shown below. We accept payment by check, money order, or credit card. We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Checks and money orders must be drawn on a U.S. bank. Ordering Online

You can order any of the products you see on CliffsNotes.com directly from this site. Shopping online is easy and secure with CliffsNotes.com: See our Safe-shopping guarantee and Privacy policy for details.

To use the online Shopping Cart, follow these steps:

  1. When you locate an item you want to buy, click the Add to Cart link. The item appears in a list in your Shopping Cart.
  2. Check the quantity, and click the Update button if you change the number of items you're ordering.
  3. If you want to add more items to your Shopping Cart before checking out, click the Continue Shopping link.
  4. When you're ready to place your order, if you aren't already on the Shopping Cart page, click the Shopping Cart link at the top of any page on this site, and then click the Checkout Now button. If you are a returning customer with a Wiley account, you can click the Faster Checkout for Returning Customers button. You are prompted to log in with your password, and your account information appears automatically. Note that you always have the opportunity to edit your account and order information, including the shipping address, before submitting the order.
  5. Complete or review the billing information, and then click the Continue Secure Checkout button. The Set Up Tracking page appears. You then have the option of setting up an online account or simply filling in a one-time order form.
  6. If you choose to create an account, type a password, type it again in the second box, and click the Create an Account and Continue button. If you do not want to create a Wiley account, click the Continue without Creating an Account link.
  7. If you have any promotional discount codes, type the code in the box and click the Apply Discount button.
  8. Select a shipping method and review the order detail. Click the Continue Secure Checkout button.
  9. You are now given an opportunity to review your entire order. You can
    • Edit the billing address
    • Edit the shipping address
    • Change the shipping method
    • Change items in your Shopping Cart
    You see the total charges for your order before you enter any payment information.
  10. Review the totals for accuracy, and then fill in your credit card information (card type, account number, and expiration date). CliffsNotes.com accepts American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards.
  11. Click the Submit Order button.
  12. When your order is complete, you will see a Confirmation screen, and within the next several minutes a confirmation message will also be sent to your e-mail address.

Scenario 1: CliffsNotes.com orders can be shipped to all U.S. Protectorates, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, South America, and Canada. Whenever you order directly from the CliffsNotes.com Web site, U.S. taxes and shipping charges are applied.

Error messages

If all goes well, you'll never see an error message while you're making a purchase. If you do see an error message, the screen should provide you with a path to correcting the problem; however, here's a brief guide to some common errors that occur:

  • The credit card number you entered might be invalid (too many or too few digits, or maybe you just made a typo). Just go back, and check to see if you need to change something.
  • Your credit card might have expired. Verify that the expiration date you are entering matches the date on the card. If your card really has expired, you'll need to use a different credit card (one that has not expired) or contact the issuing financial institution to get an updated card.
  • The bank might have declined the transaction. Again, you can either try making the purchase again with a different credit card, or contact the issuing financial institution to discuss the problem.
  • If the address you enter is different from the one on record with your bank, your transaction may be declined.
