Paradise Lost

John Milton

John Milton's epic poem Paradise Lost retells of the story of Adam and Eve. Cast from Heaven onto a lake of fire, Satan and his followers vow to take revenge on God through his new creation, Man. Satan tricks Eve into eating the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge, and Adam eats out of love for Eve. For this sin, they are exiled from the Garden of Eden.
